    Hey guys,

This forum looks cool so I decided to join. My name is Mark, I live in New Zealand and just about finished my 4th year of an LLB/BCom.

My game dev tool of choice was RMXP before I retired from game making. I've been in the scene since 2006 and during that time I have since switched to a new passion: web development. I like building things and making things work on the web. I want to make innovative apps that aid community collaboration to create things, and right I'm trying to do that with game dev in my spare time. My expertise are HTML, CSS and PHP, and I know how to make JQuery work.

I'm going to be a future mod here.

    See you guys around!

Welcome to the forum, Mark. Smile Glad to see you here. I have no idea what LLB/Bcom is, nor do I know what JQuery is but it sounds complicated. Smile

Also, congrats on the first official post.

    Thanks Very Happy

An LLB is a bachelor of laws (what you need to be a lawyer) and a Bcom is a bachelor of commerce, and I major in finance. Just your standard undergraduate stuff at uni.

jQuery is just a javascript framework, for example, this site uses jQuery as you can see if you look at the source code. Smile

I know about the LLB/Bcom. Wikipedia'd. I might come across jQuery in my trials as a Game Dev at FSU. Maybe.

Are you becoming a lawyer just so you can be all..?

    That's exactly it Very Happy

You might not come across jQuery, but you'll know how to write it because I'm pretty sure they'll teach the same language as javascript. It's not the same but learning one means you pick up the other (unless I'm mistaken)

As far as I know, once you hav learned a programming language you can easily pick up others. Similar to learning a foreign language like French, then going on to learn Spanish and German.
